What is
chiropractic neurology? |
|
The chiropractic profession, since its inception, has always had its
roots in clinical neurology. Modern chiropractic neurology, pioneered by
Frederick (Ted) Carrick, DC, PhD, is defined as the field of functional
neurology that engages the internal and external environments of the
individual in a structured and targeted approach to effect positive
changes in the nervous system and consequent physiology and behavior.
Adjustments and other non-invasive modalities can affect the nervous
system in a profound way. Through history and physical examination
procedures, the chiropractic neurologist attempts to determine which
areas of the nervous system are not working harmoniously with the whole.
In doing so, the most appropriate treatment options can be employed.
Continued monitoring, via standard and enhanced neurological exam
procedures, provides the clinician with dynamic feedback on the efficacy
of the treatments. For additional information about chiropractic
neurology, please consult
